Introducing AGLD Coin: Unveiling the NFT-Based Cryptocurrency
Adventure Gold is a relatively new entrant in the crypto space, even when compared to many other NFT-based entities. It launched on September 2, 2021, and its primary token, AGLD Coin, is based on the Ethereum blockchain using the ERC-20 standard.
The main objective behind the creation of Adventure Gold, as per Coinmarketcap, was to introduce an innovative and captivating way for users to interact with NFTs within the gaming world. To achieve this goal, Adventure Gold formed a partnership with the Loot Project, a collaboration that involved the development of various technologies and platforms. Early on, during the release of AGLD Coin, every owner of a Loot NFT Project was entitled to claim 10,000 AGLD tokens for free. This strategic move allowed Adventure Gold to leverage an existing platform with a robust community and, consequently, enhanced the perceived value of the AGLD coin.
Adventure Gold was founded by Will Papper, who is also a co-founder of Syndicate Protocol, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Papper's journey into computer programming began at the age of 13, and at just 14 years old, he co-founded his first online venture, which quickly amassed 5,000 users. Encouraged by this early success, he pursued studies in Philosophy-Neuro-Psychology and Computer Science at the University of Washington in St. Louis before moving on to major in Philosophy at Stanford. His profound understanding of complex systems led him to work on Project AGLD/Loot in early 2021. Currently, Papper is actively involved in various tech startups and the cryptocurrency community.
Regarding the utility of AGLD, its specific uses are not yet clearly defined, aside from being a tradable cryptocurrency. Speculations suggest that AGLD may have connections to the Metaverse, potentially serving as in-game currency for shared digital spaces like Minecraft or Dungeons and Dragons-style settings. Additionally, it could be employed for unique NFT fractionalization, allowing players to break down their digital items into "gold coins," represented by AGLD, which can be utilized within the game's economy. However, as of now, the platform lacks a dedicated developer or built-in utility for its native tokens, leaving the actual implementation and functionality of AGLD to be determined in the future.
