Insurance for Umrah Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, Reach up to IDR 401 Million
Umrah pilgrims can utilize health insurance provided by the Saudi Arabian government while in the Holy Land. The benefit ceiling reaches up to 100,000 riyals, approximately equivalent to IDR 400.87 million per pilgrim.
"Umrah pilgrims coming from abroad can avail the features of the Umrah insurance certificate during their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," according to a statement from the Twitter account of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on Monday (24/7/2023).
The insurance coverage is valid for 90 days starting from the first date of entry into Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the comprehensive insurance cost for pilgrims is 87.4 riyals, approximately equal to IDR 350,700. This cost is already included in the registration fees for the Umrah visa.
As reported by the Saudi Gazette, this Umrah insurance policy is an integrated policy covered by pilgrims coming for Umrah from outside Saudi Arabia.
The policy covers emergency cases such as medical treatment, hospitalization, pregnancy-related emergencies, emergency childbirth, dental emergencies, traffic accident injuries, dialysis cases, and both internal and external medical evacuations.
Furthermore, it also covers general cases such as permanent total disability due to accidents, cases of death and death due to natural disasters, repatriation of the deceased to their home country, and blood money issued by court orders.
